VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

I can't believe it, I just changed my profile to EX romantic partner!  I've gotten through my first 24 hours of NC!  I'm so grateful for this resource.  I've gained so much strength by reading everyone's posts, thank you!

Good job my friend. I know I'll get back to 24 hours and then keep going. Today I finally told her NC for good. I said I don't care if you want to see the dog, etc. Just stay away from me. It felt liberating in the sense. So she knows, after all this begging from me, that I am done for good. I'm done playing into the game of begging only to be put down and dismissed without a thought in the world.

Hi Sufficating,

I'm sorry that your relationship has ended.   That can be so hard to deal with, even if it included abusive behavior. I'm glad you are here. Keep reaching out for support, as it will help so much during the really tough times of letting go.

What happened that you are now on Detaching? Was it a mutual decision?
