Before you can make things better, you have to stop making them worse... Have you considered that being critical, judgmental, or invalidating toward the other parent, no matter what she or he just did will only make matters worse? Someone has to be do something. This means finding the motivation to stop making things worse, learning how to interrupt your own negative responses, body language, facial expressions, voice tone, and learning how to inhibit your urges to do things that you later realize are contributing to the tensions.

I am recovering from the 6th splitting and run out (came home from business trip and the STBXHwBPD had run out again).  Given the waif / hermit tendencies and our dog passing, it broke his ability to cope, especially since his trauma was preventing him from picking up DBT skills.  So... .onwards from the financial, emotional, and physical abuse.

What's your break-up playlist or mix?

Depending on if I'm inspired or trying to give myself a kick in the rear to get in gear, I'm switching.

- Life is a Highway - Rascal Flatts
- Days Go By - Keith Urban
- Good to be Alive - Andy Grammer
- Let it Rain - Keri Noble
- Best Day of My Life - American Authors

- Don't Miss You - Ricki Lee
- Silver Lining - Rilo Kiley
- Stand - Rascal Flatts

Mad at the Situation I Got Myself Into:
- Man Like That - Gin Wigmore
- Uprising - Muse
- Hate on Me - Jill Scott
- Tell that Devil - Jill Andrews
- My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark - Fall Out Boy
- Stronger - Kelly Clarkson
- The Stranger - Billy Joel
- Lie to Me - Jonny Lang
