I need advice.
My twin sister (31) has recently been diagnosed with BPD. I wish that we had known this years ago because now I'm at a place where I 100% have Compassion Fatigue and cannot provide the support needed for someone with BPD. She's definitely picked up that I've changed towards her and has avoided me. I feel so sad because now is the time she needs me most and I literally am numb emotionally towards her.
Has anyone ever gotten to this point? Have you overcome it?

Does it perhaps feel anticlimatic? It felt that way for me when my mother finally admitted to me that she was BPD. I was validated, yet also angry.

Hi TroubledTina!
I absolutely feel this way about my BPD little sis. She's caused so much pain and drama that I just can't feel the same way about her anymore. It's not that I don't love her, it's that she crossed the line one too many times with me, and now I'm completely emotionally shut down to her. And honestly I don't see it ever getting any better, short of her having a complete 180 degree turn around in behavior and attitude, and APOLOGIZING for what she's done to our family. Which is about as likely as the Rapture!
I feel for ya, sorry you are going through this too. Radical Acceptance has helped me a lot, and we have as little contact as possible now.
Hugs!
