Hello! I am new here. My significant other has BPD. We have been together for 2 years, we are young and just moved in together. Most resources I have found for loved ones of BPD have been negative in nature, bashing persons with BPD. I love my partner w/BPD very much, and our relationship has a lot more positives than negatives. But still I find myself grasping at straws trying to navigate the world of BPD with understanding and patience. My partner does not really lash out at me in anger, we rarely fight. But we just moved in together and I am struggling to set boundaries, to control his impulsive spending, to understand his intense mood swings and his self-absorption, and his tendency to act like a child when we disagree. Many times I feel like he is in love with his diagnosis, because he can use it as an excuse at any given moment. Looking for support! <3

That is great if he has accepted the BPD diagnosis... .maybe try hypnotherapy for his issues? You could probably do it yourself by getting a book on it, or you could take him to a professional. You can design the session with mindfulness techniques and then apply them to his specific issues. I heard it works wonders, and am about to do it myself with my fiancé.
