in spite of my kindness,respect, and being there for him, he stabs me in the back, over and over again and appears to enjoy doing so

Can you tell us a bit more about who it is that is causing you this grief? I am so sorry that you are having a hard time. I think it is especially difficult when we try so hard to be nice and then to have them be so unkind.
