Need help... need to leave...

[How to communicate after a contentious divorce...]

I honestly think that I need some help here. My gf has been beating me with a baseball bat and chasing me around the house with a knife.  She always does "just enough" before it is something that will be noticed.  For instance one night she beat me really hard in the back... leaving massive bruising but was careful not to hit me in the head.  

She often shows up at my work in the mornings terrified that I am leaving her for good... .like never coming home... .but in reality I am just going to work.  

Every second of every day needs to be "together" time.  It is as if she can't be alone one minute without panicking... .literally the kids sleep in the same room as her because she can't be alone.

I want to leave but I am worried about what will happen to her if I do.  She simply is not able to care for herself.  There is a lot of history... we have lived together for 11 years.  Two kids.
