Need to Learn Coping Skills

I'm reading How to Stop Walking on Eggshells and it mentioned this site as a place to find support and share ideas. I'm in a relationship with someone that seems to me to have the traits of BPD. I should definitely leave her, but I feel I can't because I'm worried she will hurt me or hurt herself. It makes me feel trapped, hopeless, and worthless because I don't have the strength to leave. I look forward to being a part of this board.

window01, welcome, and thanks for joining us!
I also came here after reading SWOE, and I'm really glad I did.
I can relate to the impulse to stay because of the worry that my wife will be worse off without me. Can you share a little but more about what this means for you? Has she harmed herself before? What were the circumstances? Does the self harm pre-date your relationship? If so, how did she cope before you knew her?
Please share a little more if you can - I can see some definite similarities between our stories and those of many others here. You've come to the right place!

Hi window01,
I'm sorry that you are feeling so scared in your relationship. Has your partner physically hurt you before? Can you share with us a little more about what is going on?
