I wanted to say hello and say thank you to all who moderate and administer this site.  I'm hoping to gain some insights in how I can better handle my current situation.  I have a child who attempted suicide months ago, and during their hospital stay it was determined they have BPD.  It's been very difficult for the whole family.

I'll try to include more details later as I am at work right now and don't have a lot of time to post, but I wanted to at least get registered and say hello!

Hope everyone out there is having the best day possible!

Hello back to you, Onelike1000, and glad you found us.

So, so sorry to read about your child's attempted suicide... .a parent's worst nightmare!

How old is your child and is he/she getting any treatment?

22 and yes, she has a therapist and has (mostly) been going to DBT.  I am still very concerned about her.  She still has a very strong attachment to her FP who has stopped all communication with her with no explanation.  I am afraid that she is starting to manifest symptoms of other disorders in addition to BPD (she says she can "feel the presence" of people who are not there, etc).

Hi onelike1000

I'd like to join Huat and welcome you to the community. I've been where you are last year and yes it's a concerning place to be, my DD experienced a male voice telling her how useless she was, taunting her etc. She was in DBT, meds etc. She has pulled through! Do you know if the therapist and psychiatrist have an opinion of these latest changes you describe?

Hang in there, here with us
