Greetings, hope everyone is doing well. I guess this may be my last post. I think it is time to move on from the past, time to finally detach from all the reminders of my past relationship. I want to thank everyone for their help and support.
I recently met someone, a very kind and sweet woman. Her and I have started a serious relationship, and I am very happy. I am almost done with school, healthy as I have ever been. Starting a new job with my company, so I am happy about that. My life is very full-filling at this point. I learned a lot from my past relationship, I learned a lot about myself.
I am indifferent about my ex-partner though, I no longer have any desire to contact her, or wish to have anything to do with her, I would most likely avoid her in public if I ever saw her, not because I have feelings, but because I know nothing healthy would come from my interaction with her. That part of my life is in the past, and I am alright with that. I feel no guilt, no shame, or no remorse. Part of me wishes we never met, but then I look at what I learned, and I have no regrets. The hardest part about letting go of something toxic is being alright with yourself, and your choices, to forgive yourself for ignoring the red flags, to trust the wrong person. We are only human, and as humans we make mistakes. Like the saying goes: "to err is human to forgive is divine". So forgive yourself, and accept that we are only human.
Good luck everyone, and remember, there is hope after these relationships, you can get past the hurt, the shame, and the anger, I am living proof of it.
