Non BPD suicide

My BPD sister’s non BPD spouse of over 30 years killed himself. He was literally driven into the ground by her. Now I’m frightened as she is finally alone. I am closest family member, and her oldest sister. I fear for her adult children as she now will focus her toxicity in them. Is duicide if non BPD partner common? Thanks.

Hi Sissie
Welcome to bpdfamily. My deep condolences to you and your family. I'm so very sorry your brother in law took his life and can understand your concern and fear for the wellbeing of your sister's adult children and your sister is now alone. Does the family have any professional support at this time, people to talk to and help them through their devastating loss? How many nieces/nephews do you have, do they live independently from your sister, have partners?
I'm not aware suicide in non BPD partners is common.
We are here for you Sissie.

This isn't common enough to be noted and in 5 years this is only the second time I've heard of this (people with BPD killing themselves out of deep despair happens).
Were you close to your brother-in-law? How do you see the adult kids at risk for her toxicity? Are you at risk?

Hi Sissie,
I’m so very sorry for your loss and this terrible tragedy.
It’s been a few days since you posted, how are you doing? How are your sister and her adult children managing?
I hope you’ll update us when you have a moment and feel like it. Please take good care of you and be extra kind to yourself today.
