medical cannabis for CPTSD.

Any tips on medical cannabis ? I  note America prescribes this for CPTSD, as do 40 other countries.  It is being trialed in the UK currently, so I though I better gem up on it. What are the trusted brand ? Are there any trusted countries that allow mail order ?

I know the NHS has been pushing for this for some time, but we're waiting for the none medical, none inhaling Politicians to do their thing, several thousand years after it was first used as a herbal remedy. That's quick for a Politician. So any tips would be great, thanks in advance, feel free to PM me.

I don’t have answers to your questions, but I am interested in what others might share. THC based medical cannabis is not an option for me due to my job(s), but I know that there are many people who use nonTHC based CBD oil with great success.

In fact, I used CBD oil with my sweet pup to help lessen his anxiety and pain. Our trainer recommended it and it seemed to work for him but I am reluctant to try it myself yet. Again, due to job requirements at this time.

I hope others with more extensive experience and knowledge will chime in.

Drs in the UK should be able to prescribe medical cannabis for the first time, within weeks. I know for a fact my local pharmacists and GP surgery are currently training on the new drug. But I also know, GPs get so many training request that they often are not very proactive about advertising new drugs. That said, the NHS helped bring this about. So if you're interested, you should make the first move and visit your GP.

The UK trials of the drug were for MS and I believe that's their initial focus, however there have been many trials involving CPTSD in other countries. Mainly with veteran groups, but as this drug addresses rumination and anxiety, that's common in all strains of PTSD. So we need to gem up on this, gem of a drug. Its prescribed in 40 other countries, so any advice is appreciated. Because its been a political football here in the UK, up until now we receive a lot of false news born from ignorance and shroud waiving. That said, quality empirical research is always available online to dispel this, but who's got the time ?

Hey, HappyChappy. I can’t comment much on weed helping with C-PTSD. I used to smoke/ingest it, but it depended on what it was, or how it was grown. The grade of it, I guess. I don’t and won’t smoke it anymore.

I’ve heard really good things about CBD oil. No THC=not failing a drug test... .from what I’ve heard. I’ve read that it has benefits without the high. Possibly a real medicine. There’s a vendor, I guess, on my way to daycare, and I’ve heard that a fellow employee is also a salesperson on the side.

I don’t believe that weed alone can benefit C-PTSD. Overindulgence is a very possible outcome there. Oil, I don’t have an opinion.

Update. OK finally got to the bottom of this.

Currently the UK government is dragging its heals on this, they say to judge its appeal with the public, but pressure groups have done surveys clearly showing 84% of pharmacist want it, my guess is they're stalling it because they're too busy with Brexit and an underfunded NHS . Maybe they will dig up Mary Whitehouse and ask her permission, who knows ?

Medically led pressure groups are encouraging the media coverage, to try and expedite this. Best estimate is it will be more widely available in 3 months but restricted to MS. Maybe they want this in their back pocket as a sweetener before dishing out bad news. If you want to help out the pressure groups, register your interest with your local NHS surgery, or better still within a patient survey. They do read them.
