Hi KHC. There are several people I have read of here whose child has more than one diagnosis they are dealing with.
I know the diagnosis is new but does your daughter seem accepting of them? Has she ben compliant before (I think you mentioned in another thread that she was in therapy from a younger age?)?

Hi KCH
I've been thinking of you , it's official, better out than in, long term?
At 26 my DD was dx BPD. Recently, she felt more was happening she was unable to explain away to BPD (post DBT, meds right), her psychiatrist recently shared (she's just turned 30), BPD, bipolar (no idea of type), schizoaffective.
Thing is my daughter since 2015, DBT treatment has, continues to gradually work through BPD and equally a co-morbid long list. It's like she's on a mission, exploring and healing, very slowly, gently at her pace. I now believe, can see she'd benefit from schema, mentalisation... therapy... building upon DBT, a different approach which is what the head of mental health said at diagnosis in 2015 as an option.
I'm reading your back posts on PSI to gain a better understanding.
Things can get better

Thank you! Tonight has been difficult. My daughter is cycling again. She's gotten into a fight with her best friend. She's numb. I am glad she's experiencing at the center. I want so badly to drop everything and rush over. Common BPD victim trait LOL... I can't. She has to learn to cope and manage. I am so happy I am leaving tomorrow... I told her if she has to stay that's okay. It's about her. No one else. It's hard when she shuts down. She half semi shuts me out too. Now I know what I am dealing with I don't take it personally. I am not fearing for her safety because she's in good hands at the center tonight. Thank you... it will get better. Just takes time.
