Our beloved old stray dog named Sunny ... he passed away
«

... what a week ; (
The old man... our beloved old stray dog named Sunny... he passed away in my arms on Friday night.
Then I get a call from my ‘deputy’ out in China Lake... we had Friday off as it was our ‘flex’ day... Greg says “dude, I really don’t want to be he one that tells you, because I know he comes and drinks coffee with you and Steve every morning... but Glenn died today, about eight this morning...
Glenn was one of our coworkers... in the same code, we’ve known him for years... and yes he comes into our office every morning to “pass word”... Glenn was the Fleet Weapons Support Team east coast coordinater... a “tech rep” and a retired Marine like all the rest of us... so he just drops dead...
And back home, my Great Aunt passed as well...
What a $hit weekend ; (
Ole’ Sunny Man... he would have been fifteen the year... he’d been in decline for two weeks now, the Doc said to just make him comfortable... so I built him a fire in the fireplace... and tried to get him to at least drink some water... but he took turn Tuesday night... and so I held him as he took his last breaths at about eight thirty Friday night... crazy old stray dog...
MIL called me Saturday morning... first I’d heard from her since me and uBPDw separated... she said she was very sad and sorry that the old chow mix has finally passed... and she said that she was praying for me and “Q”, uBPDw... her daughter... she broke up in tears and said good bye...
“Q”’and I traded a few texts but no phone calls... she said... “it’s hard to let go of those we love”...
That damn dog loves her... he guarded her every day and night since we got married... I’m sure he was heart broken when her pup passed back in November... and then also when she moved out...
I took him to the kennel up in New Bern to be cremated... on Saturday...
So tomorrow we go back into work... but Glenn won’t be there... Colonel Roberts called me this afternoon... and wants me and Steve, my coworker to go over to the squadron in the morning and check on Sean and Joe... as they all worked in the same office... Glenn was set to retire this year from civil service... he just has a birthday... sixty something... and has just gone to see the Doc... geez... yo just never know when’s it your time...
Aunt Myrtle was my Granny’s brothers wife... Aunt Myrtle was pushing ninety something... Uncle Roland... her H, passed the past summer... also eighty something... he was the baby... Granny passed back in 1997...she was ninety when she passed... she was older by three years than Grampa...
Yeah... death and taxes... I did my taxes on Friday morning before all the $hit storms hit... damn ; (
Thanks for listening... Red5

Damn... last night... was the first night, since Lord I don’t even know... maybe 2005, that there was not a Dog... sleeping in the “J” household...
Damn...
Crazy old stray dog...
We all loved him, and he you know... I remember the very first time he ever layed eyes on my wife, she came over to the house... sometime after our first date back in 2007...
Wow... I have to say, that crazy dog fell head over tail in love with her from the very first time he ever sniffed her leg : )
Oh’ yeah... as our relationship grew... and we married... it was as though... we seemed to actually ‘trade dogs’...
Kricket... her dog, and I... became fast and steady buds : )
And my old stray... boy... he would not let “Q” out of his sight !
One time... before we married... she came over to my house... base housing on Cherry Point... down on the Neuse river... she came over to sit with my son, as he was out of school that day and I was working... I had some AC troubles... so I’d called the tech to come and take a look... so he showed while I was at the squadron... and it was just “Q” and my son at home... and old Sunny... the stray chow mix... she told me that dog... would NOT let the tech in the front door... nope... she said that dog showed his teeth... growled and acted like some kind of “Cujo” beast... wasn’t happening !
Yeah, that dog has been on duty a long damn time... and he absolutely adored my wife...
... and her little yorkie dog... until the end... he sure did ; (
Dogs... a mans best friend... until he meets your girlfriend : )

I’m so sorry, Red. Thoughts are with you. Old dogs are the best. We had a 16 year old die in my wife’s arms a few years ago. Tough stuff. RIP Sunny.

I'm so very sorry, Red. Our pets are really family members, and so difficult to let go. Then to have a sudden death and a family death also? Please, please, please...take care of yourself.
(I am sitting here sharing a loveseat with my grand-dog -- a rescued pit bull terrier that our daughter last year picked up on the side of the road, skinny and with heartworms. Now he's a fine, sweet, healthy baby who will be around for a long time.)

My sympathies Red. Sounds like he had a good and long life and died as peacefully and loved.
They are family. It's so hard to lose them.

Red5, I am sad to hear of your losses. I have been following recent developments for you and I have my fingers crossed the tide is turning. I read your posts and think how hard you try; how much effort you put in. It shows the enormity of this BPD thing. It is hard, isn't it? Hope you can keep hanging in there.
