I am seeing a counsellor and he believes my wife has BPD. Currently my wife is saying she wants to commit suicide as she is struggling with our financial situation and one of our sons is in  care for drug addiction. I walk on egg shells every time I come home as no matter how calm or balanced I am in any response I am called names.

Hello and welcome, sonofagun! Welcome new member (click to insert in post)

Wow, it sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment between your wife's problems, money troubles and a son in drug treatment. I'm so sorry. But I'm glad you've found us here. We're a supportive group and we can understand what you're going through.

We want to help so let's take it a piece at a time. Is suicidal threatening something your wife has done before? Threats of suicide are actually pretty common in BPD situations. How do you respond to her threats?
