birth control options for controlling hormones and menstrual cycles

Anybody had success with birth control options that helped with hormone changes that triggered increased symptoms? My daughters symptoms get so bad the week right before her period and I'm concerned she won't take a pill on a daily basis.

We had to get my daughter on Depo shot. It’s not the best for moods bc of the progesterone, but she skips periods so we don’t have the added insanity of PMS. She was diagnosed with PMDD but that was before hospitalizations so I’m not sure that would still be accurate. I feel your pain!

My daughter tried the Depo shot, more for her rough cycle than anything else. It didn't work for her so now she's on a low dose pill.
IF
she takes it regularly it seems to help, both with the rough cycle and with the moods.
