Hard day...my daughter's profile picture makes me sad.

I know it really is inconsequential but my daughter has changed her WhatsApp profile picture to her and her ex-boyfriend as they are now back together.
He is a narcissist and deeply hurt her last year as well as being the source for her drugs and her ultimate running away from us.
I know there is nothing I can do to change this, but it hurts to know she has so little concern for herself, and that she thinks she does not deserve better.

Oh
Momsa
I am so sorry you have to see yet another reminder of your daughter making bad choices. You are right that you can't change her
Like all of us, she has to learn her life lessons at her own pace. Meanwhile please do take good care of yourself. Save your strength for what lies ahead.

It's awesome you've got a parent group - I attended a parent group when DD was an adolescent and it was a life and sanity saver!
I've been sad about things my DD has posted, her profile picture, status updates, complaints about me, you name it. I feel your pain,
Mom.
I eventually deactivated all my social media accounts and now I try hard to resist the urge to stalk my DD online (I'm not always successful). I don't know anything about WhatsApp so I looked it up and it looks like there is no escape from the pic like there was for me in deactivating my accounts. I'm sorry - here's another hug for you

Its so hard as social media is one way to stay connected to her when she's gone...but then it causes emotional spirals...I really appreciate the hugs, thank you.

Hi
MomSA
How are you doing today? Following on social media has it's challenges as you say. That's gutting to see the photo with the ex up.
When did you last see your DD?

Hi
She still stays with us weekdays as she works and studies in the evenings, but weekends she spends with him.
She is sick in bed at the moment so am spoiling her with broth and teas...I have decided that if half of her (and often the hurtful grumpy part) is all I can have, then for now I will be happy with that.
Rather half than whole.
And with regards to social media...just taking deep breathes.
