6 years ago I was a regular visitor to this site. I am back! I am a fool and I have not learned anything in that time ... still trying to escape from the trap that I created for myself. Hoping that I can find the same support here that I received all those years ago.

Just as many others have done. Just another perspective...The world changes every second, mental health is needed to keep up with these changes. Self neglect is what puts most on here. For me, slipping back to old habits of thinking is fairly simple, especially if the stage is set just right
I am a fool and I have not learned anything in that time ..
This seems to be a little on the extreme side, no? I would have to disagree because you say this...
still trying to escape from the trap that I created for myself.
Somewhere you have learned where the answers truly are. Most ignorant people dont understand this. So maybe you missed something and honest mistakes are not foolish, people are not perfect, and others helped create your trap. So learn a little more and with understanding, it will allow you to change your truth and this in turn, will allow more peace. I wish you well, Peace

Hi Tricky, they say that most smokers take multiple tries to give up cigarettes. So the initial attempts may not stick but they are part of the process. I don't know your situation, but I think most things in life are up and down, back and forth, 2 steps forward, 1 step back. Not nice and neat. But that doesn't mean you haven't learned anything or that you aren't making progress. Sometimes we need to repeat certain patterns for awhile until we get to the point where we're really done.
How are you doing now?

Hey Tricky, Don't beat yourself up! You are here, which demonstrates your self-awareness. Fill us in, when you can.

P.S. I was here six years ago, too!
