Hi all,

any experience regarding how to be in relationship with disordered attachment style.  I am new to attachment styles.

I have fearful avoidant attachment style, based on reading on attachment styles.

So the issues we have, almost all can be placed into our bucket called "attachment styles"

So what happened yesterday, our coffee date.

I get there.  He isn't there.  He usually is 10-15 late.
I texted him.  He called me on my texting app, I am so sorry, I meant to text you, water pipes broke yesterday at the house, have been working on it since yesterday.

I am so sorry I didnt let you know."

I just say it's ok.  I understand.  I say:

We could meet a different day.  I can't meet Wednesday...

(he was like, blank.  _____.   um.  I guess Thursday would work...)

In the past, this type of interaction would send me in to orbit:
(oh wow, you could care less.   Just forget it.)

What I said new was.

Ok.  Sounds good.  Look forward to Thursday.!

what I am noticing is, change is difficult.

it takes work to try and be different, have my life be in agreement with what I say I want.

Be the change.

it is possible.  One day at a time.
