Welcoming you,
hipster Sorry you found the need to be here...but glad that you are. It is good that your daughter has been officially diagnosed with having BPD. So much better if "it" has a name. A lot of us here have not been able to hear that diagnosis. We deal with the assumption because of the BPD-like behaviours exhibited.
Yes, it is heartbreaking to find things are not right...not normal (whatever normal is) with our children. Not only do they suffer...we do, too. For sure it is going to be an uphill battle but, not knowing the future, it might not be continuous. Not all needs to be doom-and-gloom. There are so many "tricks-of-the-trade" you can learn that can help smooth out the journey.
So now you are here, feel free to share as much or as little as you want. Whatever it is you do share, know that it has pretty well been told before by someone else. That alone is comforting, knowing that similar "battles" are being fought. Always keep in mind that you are anonymous...only known as "hipster." You could share what lead up to your daughter's diagnosis...if there has been or will be treatment program for her...or if you, the rest of the family, have had counselling to better help in dealing with her behaviours. As much or as little!
Once again, welcome, and a wish for better days ahead for all of you...and that includes your daughter.
