Hello all,

I am looking for a space online with people who will understand the challenges we face when a family member has Borderline Personality Disorder. I find my loved ones and friends suffering from listener's fatigue. I often get told to just cut my sister out of my life or tell her she's a b*tch. While I understand the logic to these suggestions I also know that wouldn't be the best option for me at this point.

Mostly, I look forward to reading about your experiences and your coping skills. I want to listen and learn. I'm trying to control my narrative and make sure it's not just about my sister's wild behavior. I am also hoping to speak to others about protecting yourself when they lash out - my sister has a habit of going after people's professions.

I am happy to be here - talk soon!  Way to go! (click to insert in post)

This is a good place to be for information.  Read, read, and read some more.

I got to the part in your post about her attacking people's professions.  I was an observer of this in someone.  She was just jealous of the education.  At first, I was appalled at the jealousy but later I was saddened by it.  Sad for the jealous one.  For the record, I now stay away from people exhibiting jealousy towards anyone.

Anyway, it is good you are here.

Hello Nickerdoodle,

I am glad to be here too and I am looking forward to reading and reading and reading!   Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

I am so grateful that so many people experiencing the same issues are willing to share. It gives depth and context to my experiences. Without others and our shared experience, I'd feel lost and feel like the problem.

Thank you all for the welcome and I look forward to reading about your experiences too!

Thank you,

KS
