Welcome new member (click to insert in post) My partner and I were very close. He would do things like say yes we will go to the lake and swim and be very excited. And then go silent for  weeks. Never an explanation. Is this the BPD? I fear I cannot help him anymore and feel guilty

Hey stillconfuzed, Care-taking leads to an unhealthy dynamic, so I suggest you let go of your need to help him.  Why the guilt?  You haven't done anything wrong.  Suggest you let go of the guilt, too.

Hard to say it he suffers from BPD.
