He reached out today...we haven't talked in months. He somehow found out I was moving to my dream city that we had talked about moving to together. He said "I'm REALLY sorry to bother you, but I just wanted to say that I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU! I heard you're moving. Give Huxley (my dog) a big kiss for me." He then proceeded to tell me how he still plans on moving there too after culinary school, how he genuinely believes we will end up together, and how much he loves and misses me. Ugh.

Hey Turkish,

I basically just said thank you and told him the best thing he ever did for me was let me go so that I could learn to care for and heal myself. I also wished him well. I don’t know what his intention was but there’s always an ulterior motive with him.

That's a good response, compassionate even. What if he reaches out again?

Well, I assume he still has not invested in therapy or meds of any kind so a relationship of any sort is off the table until that happens. It helps that he's 2000 miles away from me too, it will be much easier to maintain my boundaries that way . Of course parts of me still longs for the future we could have had if he was willing to get help, but unfortunately I don't think that will ever happen.
