I’m not sure there is such a thing as “recovery from BPD.” They are BPD, rather than “having BPD,” since it is the lens through which they see the world. It’s possible to re-educate the brain and learn strategies they missed in an earlier developmental period. However even with therapy it’s likely that they will always still be BPD, but perhaps with better tools to be a more emotionally functional and compassionate person.
