I recently wrote this in my journal and thought I'd share it here.

I'm becoming more and more comfortable with me, with who I am.

There's no more need to compete in order to be seen.
No more need to be quiet in order to hide.
No more need to be fearful in order to stay safe.
No more need to walk on eggshells in order to not offend.
No more need to please in order to be accepted.
No more need to work hard in order to impress.
No more need to help in order to fix.
No more need to listen to people in order to satisfy them.
No more need to be defined by any of those things.
I can just be me.

I am healing.

Thank you for sharing those thoughts Wools ! Some days are better than others, but once we feel what it is to be radically authentic, it feels easier to get there more and more often. I love what you wrote.  Virtual hug (click to insert in post)

Thanks, Rev and Riv3rW0lf for your kind comments.

One of the reasons I posted my thoughts here is that we all come here to PSI working on our pasts. The journey is tough, long & time consuming, and painful really doesn't even begin to describe it. When I first arrived here, I was at step 1 of the Survivor's Guide for Childhood Abuse  Every once in a while I like to pop back in to see where I am on my journey. I would say that I'm in the Healing stage now, which I'm over the top excited about. Yet that joy also comes with the realization that I've done a lot of hard work to get here, and it's not a McDonald's drive through window when it comes to being a quick stop at each step.

Where are the rest of you on the Survivor's Guide right now? Where were you when you first came here? Click on each # to read the expanded description of the guide.

We're on this journey together. Where you are is unique to you. How well I remember going one step forward and three steps back. Eventually I made more forward progress than I did backward. I often tell people that I had to go back in order to go forward and heal; back into my childhood in order to go forward in my adult life towards wholeness.  I fully believe that.
