It’s interesting that she’s only developed BPD-like symptoms at this relatively later stage of life. I’m not too sure if BPD develops this late. Normally symptoms are present during childhood. If anything, its sounds like she’s also having psychotic delusions. That being said, pwBPD usually become emotionally dysregulated during family gatherings, so that certainly sounds a lot like BPD behavior.

But I hope she will seek out mental health counseling, and perhaps you and/or your parents would benefit from getting some professional counseling yourselves to try to get to the bottom of this.
