My boyfriend just broke up after TWO MONTHS of BLISS

Hi All,

My boyfriend broke up with me after 2 months of bliss.  He has personality disorder . I tried to hang on to the relationship but he said it was ' too intense' for him yet at one point he had said earlier that ' intense' was good.  He was sexually abused as a child in care and his Mother never loved him and was physically and emotionally abusive to him. he had a good awful childhood. 
I am in pieces now though. He works in the same building I work so we do see each other occasionally. Now after the break up I offered to remain friends and he accepted but after this he started blowing off and cold which he never did while were in the relationship, before we broke up so this hot/cold confuses me. Also, if I ignore him he tries to get my attention. What is the point of this? Did he not want to break up? Also he is aware if i talk to another work colleague who is male. He mentioned to me the other day about a male colleague that ' you have become friendlier with him ha?
I am confused about the hot/cold behavior. I still like him and I am not going to lie, I would love us to get back together.
