Hi, my first post. My partner has been diagnosed with EUPD around 2 years ago and we have been trying to make our relationship work for last 5 years. This hasnt been easy. We love each other and want to be together. Main issue is he disengages when he is struggling sometimes days at a time. We did live together but no longer due to us both struggling with his behaviours. Be good to talk to someone in same position or if anyone has any strategies!

welcome to the BPD family.  glad that you took the step to make your first post.   Interesting that your partner has been diagnosed with Emotionally Unstable personality disorder.    I find that a more accurate name then the old BPD.    Can I ask, is your partner accepting of the diagnosis and actively in treatment?

I would say the best place here to find strategies is in the Lessons thread.  At the top of this board is a thread that is permanently pinned there.   It's locked but contains links that take you all over this very large website.   Explore what seems interesting to you.

Let me join 'Ducks in saying welcome.

She's asked good questions, so if it's okay, I'll just sit and wait to see how this conversation unfolds.

In the meantime, let me also say that the BPD family is such a wellspring of love and wisdom. Lots of good advice and support to be found here. You what though - there's one thing you will never find here. And that is judgement. Zero, nada, none.
