What does anyone do, if anything for an adult child who refuses help? I have already given her 30 days to move out, but with the exception that if she gets help I will extend it to 60, but we are barely speaking right now and when we do it is very strained. She has not told me what she plans to do, but I also do not think she has gotten help yet. Her 30 day mark is at the end of the month. Frustrated/Unfortunate (click to insert in post)

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

Hi BPDMOM28;

I have already given her 30 days to move out, but with the exception that if she gets help I will extend it to 60, but we are barely speaking right now and when we do it is very strained. The "if anything" part is important... and so difficult.

Do you think you're willing to follow through on not having her live at home, if she chooses not to follow this plan?

And fill me in a little more on the agreement with her -- for example, if she calls a counselor at 11:59 p.m. on Day 30, does that "count" towards the extension to 60 days? Just looking for more detail -- sometimes that can help in decision making.
