Has this person been involved in any type of accident or had any known head trauma/injury before diagnosis of BPD/npd?

My ex is undiagnosed but he has many of the BPD traits. He also has an acquired brain injury from 10 yrs ago and retrograde amnesia. Through the whole r/s I tried to understand his behaviour, trying to figure out what was caused by the brain injury, what was just his basic personality. I had never heard of BPD until we separated and it has explained a lot. I have a difficult time getting info from his family on his behaviour prior to the brain injury but from what I have gathered he always had an unpredictable nature, bad temper. He was beat as a child by his Dad and when he got old enough he was getting into fights constantly. I guess what I was really trying to figure out is if he could be helped or not. I still have no idea but I couldn't take the emotional abuse any longer and ended our marriage. I still question if I should have fought harder for him to get the help he needed.
