Looking forward to sharing and learning. Finally got an answer after having a psychiatry Dr work with my mom in the skilled nursing home she is in. From prior records about her he said she has border line personality disorder and historionics. After doing research on this I know now that I was not the problem.  So happy that this Dr was able to give me this peace in my life with finally getting a answer with her being 93 and before she passes on.

Hi Roses,

Welcome to BPD Family!  I'm happy you found us.  I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother.  What an amazing thing to get an answer to "what is wrong with her?" after all this time.  I wonder if it gives you a sense of closure.  Now you can take time to reflect on why she was the way she was.  What issues did you see that bothered you the most?  Do you have any children?  Have you told them about her diagnosis?  How did they react?  I'm just full of questions on this early morning.

Here is a link that will introduce you to BPD and it's symptoms.   Video-What is Borderline Personality Disorder?

We have many members on this board who will be able to relate to having a parent suffering from BPD.  Here is a link that will direct you to the proper board.  [L5]  Coping and Healing from a BPD Parent, Sibling, or Inlaw Board

Keep posting here!  It will not only help you gain an understanding of your mother but will help you understand yourself and the issues you may need to address from having a BPD parent.

Roses,

.  I would like to join  crazedncrazymom in welcoming you to bpdfamily.

I can imagine that if you have children, then you were all affected by your mother's BPD.  It must have been so validating to learn that your mother has BPD.  It wasn't you, if you were led to believe that.

I am so glad that you have found peace via your mother's diagnosis of BPD.  I hope that you will visit the board that crazedncrazymom mentioned.  Many members probably have experienced similar things that you have gone through with your mother.  You will find so much support here!
