My uBPDxgf had pupils so small I at one point suspected she was secretly using opiates.

I've read a lot of threads mentioning very dilated pupils when raging, but she never raged at me, so I don't know. But no matter the circumstance, excited or not, her pupils were like pinpoints.

Do you recognize this?

Ouch, I just found out it could be syphilis. I wonder if I should get myself checked.

We never used protection and when we first started having sex she said she tested herself every 4th month. Which sounds weird in hindsight as she had a boyfriend when we met. Why would she test herself while in a relationship... .

I think it has more to do with her emotional state.

When we get scared our pupils pin point so we can focus on dangers better.

She may not have been raging but as we know with BPDs there is nearly always a state of underlying fear.

Wouldn't hurt to get yourself checked out though. My uBPDexgf insisted that I did before we had relations. Thought it was strange at the time but what isn't when BPD is involved.

I had the same suspicions. Although in my case it turns out she actually was secretly using opiates.

Or could be coming down or withdrawing from a stimulant such as cocaine or Adderall. This can also cause mega irritability leading to unjust anger.

Definitely when raging, which was a frequent occurrence.  I describe my uBPDxW's eyes as looking like "pinwheels" when she was triggered.  LJ

All I can remember is when my exBPDgf was raging and in one of her demeaning abusive moods, she had the blackest eyes I have ever seen.  It was like looking into a soulless pit. It was  the scariest thing I have ever seen.

I think this is more the norm than pinpoint. Our pupils dilate under many circumstances. Some of these are intense fear and anger. When we feel threatened,  our pupils expand from an evolutionary POV to take in more of your threatening surrounding.

Well her eyes looked like that most of the time towards the end. I have never met someone so cruel and heartless. Mental illness or not she was the most selfish destructive person I have ever met. She didn't care about anyone but herself. I do believe she is incapable of being happy.

I saw two pictures of my ex yesterday while clearing out my computer files.

One was taken 8 days after we met, the other 6 days before we split.

She looks like two different people - in the first she looks "soft" with half closed eyes, a pretty smile, very warm, lovely. In the second she looks very hard - staring wide eyes, piercing tiny pupils, a weird fake smile, quite scary and not at all attractive. Face is much thinner and sharp features.

Two different people, and that's what I guess she was.

I didn't feel much emotion seeing them, other than some sadness that the person in the first one hadn't stuck around long, and a wish that I could climb into it and give myself a glimpse into the absolute nightmare about to unfold. I guess I'm well on the way to recovery now - 5 months out, 5 weeks total NC.

I have only ever seen mine without pinpoint pupils once. It was the day she came back into my life. She asked me if I was alright and her eyes were alight. I believe that in that moment I was quite possibly the most wonderful thing she had ever seen.  Being cool (click to insert in post)

My pupils were pinpoints at that moment though  Laugh out loud (click to insert in post)

and no, i wasn't alright haha
