Im a Co-dependent

Howdy,
I learned a lot with all the information available here. Has been an eye opener. Things make sense now. I actually forgive her, so sad, all of this. We liked each other so much, we had so much hope, promises, etc. Probably, it was all fantasy.
But, you know what? Just like the old adagio, “It takes two to Tango!” I believe I am a co-dependent too!. Reading and learning more about this disorder, called borderline, made me understand that I am a co-dependent.
And I will have to change this, so I dont get stuck in a relationship similar, that i had before. So I can nurture a healthy relationship with young females from now on. Basically, if can get this out of the whole thing, will positive. I will gain something positive for the rest of my life.
I dont hate my, ex-girlfriend, I just want her to get better, find herself.
Thank you
B.

Welcome Brazil! It does take two to tango and good for you for being able to self-reflect and find meaning to the pain you've experienced. Most of us here were codependent or at least had codependent traits in our r/s. I certainly did. Coming to this understanding was important for me as well as I never want to go through this kind of BU again!

I just discovered that I have co-dependent traits and they are probably why I took all the crap my exBPD gf use to throw at me. I'm glad this breakup has taught me more about myself so I can keep this from ever happening again. Good luck on your journey! We both begin it now and we aren't alone.

Hi Brazil,
I'd like to welcome you to the family. Your not alone. I agree, it takes two to tango. I'm also codependent.
