Hello,

I am a 27 year old male with a BPD partner.  We have been dating for 3 years now.  I have a mental health background (9 credits short of a Masters in Counseling), but even my training fails me from time-to-time.

We just moved cities and moved in with her parents, which has been incredibly stressful.  I have little money, and just started a new job (my 3rd in 2 years) and I'm terrified I am going to lose it if something happens at home again.

I suppose I just need someone to talk to about all this sometimes.

Hi RedWeb,

Welcome

We are glad to have you with us.

There are a lot of valuable resources on this site that can act as reminders and supports for us.  I am going to point out a good place to start with this link:

The Do's and Don'ts for a BP relationship

Would you like to tell us what's gone on at home in the past that worries you?

Welcome

The support of those also at the coal face is important, as no one understands this like those who live and breathe it, including many experienced mental health professionals.

It is a complex logical mix of illogical issues and reactions. Coated with a veneer of delusion and avoidance.

In short it is a well hidden, complicated, and slippery little sucker to nail.

Dont over estimate your abilities or it will pull on your rescuer traits.
