Does your son or daughter act more borderline after getting the diagnosis?

My daughter was diagnosed with bipolar (questionable) with borderline traits plus a lot of other unspecifics like attachment issues, unspecified depression stuff like that. It seems she became more borderline after getting the bipolar diagnosis.  She doesn't yet know that she is probably more borderline than anything else.  I'm in no hurry to tell her and hoping her treatment will prevent her from becoming fully diagnosed. 

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

No, my d didn't... .she was only 12 when her t told her she had BPD traits.  She didn't look up what that meant (as far as I know). 

Now she is 19 and we recently had a convo about diagnoses in general... .she doesn't believe in "labels".  We discussed why a "Name" is important for research, for teaching how to identify, for treatment.  We also discussed the name "BPD" and talked about the movement that was underway recently to change the name to "Emotion Disregulation Disorder"... .she felt that it was a much more accurate/descriptive term.

When the term BPD was assigned it was thought that these particular individuals that met the 9 criteria were on the "border" between neurosis and psychosis... .this has since been proven false yet the "borderline" name still exists.
