Hi all, I'm new here. I just finished reading Stop Walking On Eggshells in which this site was mentioned. I'm looking for all the advice and knowledge that I can get so that I can better understand and help my 16yr old child as well as learn/understand how to keep my sanity and the rest of my family as sage and unaffected as possible. My child has been struggling for about 2yrs now give or take a bit and the past year is when things got very problematic. My child had spent most of this past year in hospital and was diagnosed with BPD, MDD, ADHD, PTSD and anxiety. Lots of struggles here, still trying to understand it all and find/learn ways to help my child cope. Awaiting treatment right now but it wont start for several months so I just hope that when the time comes to start that my child will still be willing to go to treatment and or isn't back in hopital.

Hello Mamabear32 and welcome.

Great that you found us and great that your daughter has received a diagnosis... .her problems have been given names.  This will give you the opportunity to learn about her illness and find information on how to better deal with situations.

As well as being able to connect with other parents of BPD children and receiving support from them, this website offers a wealth of information.

I am sorry that there will be such a long wait before treatment can commence.  I hear your concerns about whether or not your daughter will still cooperate at that point in time but try not to cross that bridge until it comes... .IF it comes.

Remember, Mamabear32, to look after yourself on this journey.   Keep posting.
