It might be helpful to get a little more info.
For example, is she diagnosed or undiagnosed?
Is there anything going on right now that is causing her loneliness, or has this been a long-term problem?
Also, since this is BPD we're talking about, how does she treat you during the times when her traits are more pronounced? Is she receptive to your assistance/support?
