Both my children have BPD. My daughter lives with me. My son does not. My son "hides" his much better than my daughter. My daughter spent 19 days in a children's psych ward when she was 26. She's 19 now and has come a long way.my son has attempted suicide 3 times by overdosing on prescription meds and bleach.
I am in a relationship with a very negative man who does not understand this disorder at all. I have no one to talk to who "gets it". When I try to look for support from him it turns into an open invitation for him to bash her and it turns into a fight every time.
Maybe I'm not in the right spot. Maybe I just need support in more than this area. Idk. I feel alone.

Hello
Kaliope
You are in exactly the right spot. All of us in this group have children with BPD. We totally get it and we are glad you are here. It seems like you have quite a lot on your plate with two children and a partner who does not really understand BPD. How can we best help you at this point? What is your biggest concern? Welcome!

Hi Kaliope,
I'm sorry that I didn't see your message and respond sooner. As far as being here, with BPD Family you are in the right spot!
I have some similarities to your situation and I think we can help each other.
I too am married to someone who doesn't understand and I am working really hard on this.
I know so well what it is like to feel alone when dealing with a child with BPD. Friends don't understand and even people so close to us don't. It's hard for a healthy brain to understand the behavior of a person with a brain that works differently from ours.
Right now I am rushing this note to you. My business is days from closing for the season and I am going a little nuts winding things down and closing up and preparing to move to my winter home. I will be back on-line around the 10th of November or so once I am done travelling and all settled in again. I hope you check back! You are NOT alone!
