Lots of us seem to have made a commitment to look after ourselves better in the new year. We need to focus more on ourselves than we have in the past. This means doing things for us, things that we love to do, things that mean something to our lives, and not our lives as defined by our pwBPD.
For me, it's about gaining my self confidence back, to a point where I can walk through every day in the best shoes for me, down the path I know I'm meant to be on... .living my life in a way that expresses my inner self. I gotta do it, and I'm gonna do it! I am committed. I also know myself enough to know I'm going to fail, sometimes.
Part of what seems to help people to stay committed to a goal is being accountable, both to ourselves and to others.
So... .I was thinking... .

... .what if we keep each other accountable to this commitment in a bit of a fun way, and start a 'French Toast Club'. I was thinking that when a member posts a new topic about how s/he is doing with this commitment to self care, we could use a code in the subject line (FTC) that would be a signal the rest of us, that this is a 'check in' on this subject. We could write about times we fail to make it priority, state goals we hope to achieve, how our SOs re-act to our new behaviours, whatever... .
... .
... .
I must say, right now, I am scared stiff that this is a completely moronic idea. Please, oh please, Great Moderator, remove it, if it is so! ... .here we go... .'Post'
