Hey new friends
First time on here so would welcome a few hellos.
I was in an 18 month relationship which I ended due to 6 or more months of erratic behaviour from BF.
That was 6 months ago. He deteriorated after I called the time out, but in about august started medication and therapy. Since october or so we have become increasingly close again
Not sure what advice I'm looking for on here tbh! Was just glad to find a resource to start a conversation. I'm 38 and that was the first relationship that I thought might go the distance. Now i know what i would be dealing with I obviously have reservations, but the last couple of months of contact have been mostly really positive. Interesting how writing this down makes things look different. Has been great having the good person back and around, but you just never know how far away the next challenging times may be.
Welcome views from anyone who has managed to get to a place in their relationship where the BPD trusts you sufficiently to intervene when they are on a downward spiral

Hi CJDiva-
And welcome! It sounds like things are going OK in your relationship now, so it was moved here, to the Improving board. It's also good he's started medication and therapy, it represents some ownership of his disorder which is a good thing; you don't mention if he was diagnosed, but you found us, and there's a wealth of information here about the disorder and many people who are or have been in relationships with borderlines, so if he is diagnosed or exhibits significant traits you will find value here.

Interesting how writing this down makes things look different
I'd just like to say that it helps and it helps to get different opinions from people that can relate with you. You can find the lessons on the right side of the board. You're not alone.
