Sends me shopping for things ONLY she is allowed to eat

She must have grown up with parents that ignore the concept of teaching siblings to share and respect others- or maybe her parents didn’t respect the kids’ by instituting a “get it before I do” environment.

If there is food that is in the house, she mentally assigns it to herself and becomes angry when I see it after weeks or more and eat it myself (you know- because I LIVE here and a gallon jug of apple juice or a family size box of Oreos or a party size bag of Doritos is open game when two people live together).

Further, she gets very upset when I see something at the store that I would like and I THINK she might like too and come home saying I got it for us and it looked good- on the rationale that I REALLY got it for just me and I only said that it was for her too because I was a manipulating liar that somehow needed a reason to excuse my fatally flawed SELFISH desire to buy a bag of chips that looked good.

Is there any way to respond to this short of ignoring it completely?   I can’t validate the invalidatable.

The FOO attitudes toward food can be ingrained. My mother's stepmother did not allow my mother, as a child, to even open the refrigerator door without permission. It was one of the points that my mother made a conscious decision would be different when she had her own family.
