The official BPD theme song
«
on:
March 28, 2010, 09:45:36 PM »
I just heard this song again. I haven't listened to it in years and I never really understood it when I first heard it. But after my recent experience with a BPD, it basically sums up my whole experience.
This kind of music might not be your cup of tea, but if you just listen to words, it's pretty amazing.

Here are some other songs that fit the bill for what you all may be going through:
"Evanescence - The Last Song I am Wasting on You"
For people who have had enough.
Sparkling gray, they're my own veins
Any more than a whisper, any sudden movement of my heart
And I know, I know I'll have to watch them pass away
Just get through this day
Give up your way, you could be anything
Give up my way and lose myself, not today
That's too much guilt to pay
Sickened in the sun, you dare tell me you love me
But you held me down and screamed you wanted me to die
Honey you know, you know I'd never hurt you that way
You're just so pretty in your pain
Give up my way, and I could be anything
I'll make my own way, without your senseless hate
So run, run, run... .
And hate me if it feels good
I can't hear your screams anymore
You lied to me
But I'm older now
And I'm not buying, baby
Demanding my response
Don't bother breaking the door down
I found my way out... .
And you'll never hurt me again
"Panic Lift - Hold On"
For those holding on
you fall away from me
and i'm here left with
all your pain
i swear that it wont end like this
i stand behind you still
just steps away so you can reach
your hand out to hold on to me
waking up here where you left me
trying to put this all together
things are said, and words are spoken
lives have changed and bonds are broken
you have decided to walk away
and left me here with all your pain
if i could change i swear i would
but no reasons understood
with every day that passes me
it seems like we will never be again
but tell me now what i should do
when every thought i think is of you
i cant help what bothers me
its just so hard when i beleive that
this could work, i swear it could
just give me a chance and you'll see
if outside forces pulled you away
then why does this hurt just the same
if there's nothing wrong inside with me
then why am i the one thats lonley
if you left now only to return
then why do want me to forget this
if it's us that you forsake
please just say it to my face
"Staind - Please"
For those doing everything and its still not enough
Can't you see that I'm sick of this?
Chances are you're oblivious to how I feel
Sitting on your throne, and I'm sure that I'm not alone,
Not alone, not alone.
Tell me please,
Who the fuc did you want me to be?
Was it something that I couldn't see?
Never knew this would be so political.
And please, I'm still wearing this miserable skin
And it's starting to tear from within
But it's obvious that doesn't bother you, so please
I didn't think that you'd sell me out
Now I know what you're all about.
You might feel in control of things.
But you're not holding all the strings.
All the strings, all the strings.
Tell me please,
Who the fuc did you want me to be?
Was it something that I couldn't see?
Never knew this would be so political.
And please, I'm still wearing this miserable skin
And it's starting to tear from within
But it's obvious that doesn't matter to you,
So please
I've swallowed all your answers
I've swallowed all my pride
You've used up all your chances
Can't keep this all inside
Tell me please,
Who the fuc did you want me to be?
Was it something that I couldn't see?
Never knew this would be so political.
And please, I'm still wearing this miserable skin
And it's starting to tear from within
But it's obvious that doesn't bother you
So please don't keep telling me that it's ok
I don't buy all the hit_ that you say
And quite honestly I'm fucing sick of it
so please if I cut off this nose from my face
Then I wouldn't feel so out of place
But it still wouldn't be quite enough for you,
so please.

Here's an awesome one, called So Cruel by U2, words are so prophetic, Bono wrote them about Edge's situation with an ex wife that he loved dearly
We crossed the line
Who pushed who over?
It doesn't matter to you
It matters to me
We're cut adrift
We're still floating
I'm only hanging on
To watch you go down
My love
I disappeared in you
You disappeared from me
I gave you everything you ever wanted
It wasn't what you wanted
The men who love you, you hate the most
They pass RIGHT through you like a ghost
They look for you, but your spirit is in the air
Baby, you're nowhere
Oh... .love... .
You say in love there are no rules
Oh... .love... .
Sweetheart,
You're so cruel
Desparation is a tender trap
It gets you every time
You put your lips to her lips
To stop the lie
Her skin is pale like God's only dove
Screams like an angel for your love
Then she makes you watch her from above
And you need her like a drug
Oh... .love... .
You say in love there are no rules
Oh... .love... .
Sweetheart,
You're so cruel
She wears my love like a see-through dress
Her lips say one thing
Her movements something else
Oh love, like a screaming flower
Love... .dying every hour... .love
You don't know if it's fear or desire
Danger the drug that takes you higher
Head in heaven, fingers in the mire
Her heart is racing, you can't keep up
The night is bleeding like a cut
Between the horses of love and lust
We are trampled underfoot
Oh... .love... .You say in love there are no rules
Oh... .love... .
Sweetheart,
You're so cruel
Oh... .love... .
To stay with you I'd be a fool
Sweetheart
You're so cruel

The Life and Death of Mr Bad Mouth - PJ Harvey
Baby, you got a bad bad mouth
Everything is poison that's coming out
Cheating, lying since the day you were born
Someone outta rinse it out with soap
Wash it out, wash it out, wash it out
No kind words are coming out of your mouth
Plenty goes in but nothing good comes out
Badmouth, sad mouth, you were an unhappy child
That doesn't make your lying tongue alright
Wash it out, wash it out, wash it out
Cos everything is poison
You'll be the unhappy one
Your lips taste of poison
You're gonna be left alone
When you told me every word you said
Came from voices talking in your head
Baby, I just think you're out for what you can get
Your badmouth has killed off everything we had
Wash it out, wash it out, wash it out
Cos everything is poison
You'll be the unhappy one
Your lips taste of poison
You'll be in the corner crying

I'm not a huge expert on Henry Rollins so I was just wondering if anyone knows what the inspiration for this song was.
I figure he has either had a person with BPD in his life or that he himself has BPD. Although I sorta doubt that he has BPD because the words "I'm a Liar!" aren't really in a BPD's vocabulary.
Just wondering

I LOVED this song... .at the time I was dating an NPD so it fit the situation. LOL, thanks for reminding me. "Love is Blindness" is a good one off that album too.

Flave: Henry Rollins is singing
about
someone who's NPD/BPD. You're right--very scary, and true of my ex. This song and video is a great tool... .just watch it when you think you miss your exBPD/NPD. I did, and it helped me tremendously.

OriginalofSpecies, I introduced BPDexgf to the music of U2 and passion and soulful lyrics of Bono,as she was half my age,and "Original of the Species" was kind of our story, crazy how it comes full circle with, "So Cruel"
