"Quod ratio non quit saepe sanavit mora"

"Time often heals what reason cannot"

I read this quote this morning, and want to share it for everyone struggling to regain themselves.  It really is true too.  Recovery from a borderline experience is very trying but is possible.  You will regain yourself and be in a much better position in the end.  Do whatever it takes to save yourself, and never ever doubt yourself.  You have been through a mind rape instigated by someone who operates in a zone we cannot possibly ever comprehend.

If you need extra help, there is no shame in utilizing a therapist.

Have placed quote on reminder board on my desk; it's perfect. Thanks.

Cool.  I often find myself harkening back to the Romans for inspiration as they lived through things vastly more difficult than what we experience today.

I couldn't afford a therapist for myself during my struggle so studying the Romans, and how they approached a very dangerous life provided inspiration to me through some very trying circumstances even beyond my BPD experience.  Of course, my exBPD is water under the bridge now, but the quote seemed to fit my recovery experience very well.

Never give up!  You can overcome it.  Faith in yourself and a good support network are the keys to recovery, and time is truly the healer of all wounds.

I am one year out of very abusive situation which I still don't what exactly had happened. But you are right, whenever i start to think about her actions I end up smiling at myself. Because it does'nt really matter why she did all kind of mean things to her lover. What matters is me NOW, in this moment, who is making life decisions independently in a peaceful environment. I think Whenever you reached to the point that the assumption of your ex being "happy", or "sad" woul'nt affect your feelings, this is acceptance.

I often likened it to "emotional rape" and "attempted psychological murder" - I think mine had a serious dose of narcissism thrown in the mix.
