So why haven't you changed your number/email?

I see a lot of threads about ex's having contacted the OP after weeks or months of NC. Did you just expect to never hear from then again or what? Why didn't you just change your number and email to save yourself from having to deal with them again?

I can block her email address... .  but i do not know her phone number. I guess I did not go to the trouble of blocking her email address, because I did not think she would email me.

Im not changing my stuff... .  in this day and age anybody can find anybody. Yeah it hurts to hear from her, but she will find somebody else and i will not hear from her again. Im sure im not the first guy to blow her off completely.

Not that I have the problem of my ex contacting me, but at least for me, changing my number and email address for any reason would be a HUGE hassle.  Way too many people to notify and contact information to change (websites, credit card companies, etc).  It'd be easier to just block your ex than to go through the hassle of changing these things (and hopefully they're not crazy enough to keep contacting you with new numbers or emails).

Doing this isn't easy and I think many people hope their ex will somehow get better... .  and they don't want to close the door entirely.  I blocked his number and sent his emails to my junk folder but it was because I needed time to heal and had nothing to do with him; it was for my own protection.  

Each person has to choose their own path to recovery and make a conscious decision on how this path is going to look.  I've read many posts where the person was relieved (and even proud) their ex contacted them again... .  but it often put their healing back to square one.  Some people here have been able to manage limited contact with some degree of success.  

Personally, I sleep better at night knowing he will not be able to contact me again.
