Good video. The total denial of events that happened in the past and the classic "I never did anything on purpose to hurt you": those really hit home.

Just watched the film... .wow... .that woman just wouldn't admit she was wrong. She just couldn't do that. She couldn't see it. She had absolutely no empathy - it was so apparent!

How do we teach empathy? It's done when we are very little. Those two daughters will face a lifetime of grief because that "mother" is set in concrete. She wouldn't even say she was wrong just to save face on TV! Jeez, lady!

Speaking of hiding a dress - my mother used to hide my deodorant. When I would ask her where she put it, she would act just like that woman... ."who... .me, I don't know what you're talking about". As I was walking away, I noticed a smirk on her face. I would just have to stink that day. Naturally, later in the day, she would comment that I was sweating more than normal, hold my blouse up to her nose saying, "PPPPPP UUUUUUU". Then she would point out that she never sweat (she didn't) and she never needed deodorant.

My mother was a witch. Oh... .the memories.

Oh  :'( I finally watched it all. I have to say the audience laughing was annoying. They don't understand how hard it is.

But yeah, that's my mom too. The part where she says she didn't lock the dresses in a trunk and the woman was flabbergasted that her mom was lying - I felt that so much. That's what my mother is like. I still don't even fully understand if she is knowingly lying or if she is lying to herself to the point where she believes it. Some days I think it's one, some it's the other. Is that woman really lying or has she deluded herself to the point where she really thinks it was the way she said?

My mother could be such good friends with this woman.

Yeah, and the whole thing about how since she didn't do it on purpose, it's not on her, ever. She really does sound like my mother too. BPD? NPD? Something is wrong there.

I would just like to say one more thing - since my mother is dead, it won't make any difference. I showed that clip to my son and he sat up and said to me, "Ma... .that was recorded on WGAL in Lancaster, PA!"

I looked at it and said, "Oh, God, you're right - there's more of them in Lancaster." My mother lived there from 1994 to 2013. Small world.

There is a part 2 and one could be forgiven for wanting to slap the woman, but Dr Phil handles it well. This woman would be no contact with me. I showed it to my daughter on facebook and she was in awe to see her grandmother in a different body
