Eating from stress
«

I was doing fine for over a year with not using food to comfort me but this past summer I let it slowly creep back in and now when I feel out of control because of my BPD husbands unpredictable behaviors I find myself craving sweets, wine, extra snacks, etc.
I am gaining weight again.
Is anyone else dealing with this? I feel like I am on a carnival ride that I can't get off of that has no beginning or end.
We will have an extended good period where I start to wonder is it all in my head... .then with just a blink he will be upset over nothing, depressed or?
Dealing with him seemed already like all I can barely handle, then one of my daughters is going through a messy divorce and needed support, I lost my part time job, and big things around house need to be done causing money problems.
I know this is normal life, and I try to stay positive and live one day at a time. But last few months it's been harder for me to stay that way.

My weight has yoyo'd so much in the last 33 years... .lost 50 last year... still 30 to go... but I'm finding the cravings are creeping back... .stress and depression creep in living with not getting your needs met and having to tiptoe around emotionally. ... guess sugar or food in general is better than nothing.
Now I feel like working out

I need some dark chocolate, the good stuff. Gonna heat it up in a spoon and inject it into my taste buds to numb the pain of my home life.
My uBPDw also eats for the stress... .and she has The Knack for baking amazing deserts. So I am gaining weight too.
My way out is that long walks are also part of my self-care regimen, so I take those for exercise too.

Glad you understand, just knowing this forum is here with people struggling like me makes me not feel alone in this.
We are going to pub for pizza and beer and Monday night football. I am getting lulled after a wonderful day again... .
