As bb12 said,
even knowing they have a disorder, the level of dismissiveness is one of the most painful things I have experienced.
I just broke down in tears reading that. That dismissiveness is hurtful beyond words.
And quite possibly a blessing in disguise.

We were together for 5 years, lived together for 4. He broke up with me on an afternoon after trying to make love with me in the morning. 4 days later he was with my replacement, actively pursuing their relationship. I kept the line of communication somewhat open until I was able to retrieve my garden, a little over a month later. I have heard nothing from him since, Sept 8th, 2011. He had gone on a smear campaign, and occasionally posted things on FB (others told me, I had him blocked immediately). He has replaced my replacement, although they recycled a few times. He is now with some other poor woman, who I hear is a nice person with bad luck in men. I have never heard from him. I don't think I will. I think he has so much shame over what he did, although I know on another level he felt that he did nothing wrong and his actions were justified. That's the disorder.
