Before you can make things better, you have to stop making them worse... Have you considered that being critical, judgmental, or invalidating toward the other parent, no matter what she or he just did will only make matters worse? Someone has to be do something. This means finding the motivation to stop making things worse, learning how to interrupt your own negative responses, body language, facial expressions, voice tone, and learning how to inhibit your urges to do things that you later realize are contributing to the tensions.

I realized today that I'm finally at the end of grief after a month of waiting for any sign my ex was having second thoughts or even a hint of remorse for his decision and attempt to reach out to me or for the relationship he started 3 days after leaving me would crash and burn. I'm accepting it's done. I keep tabs on him some ways and notice a pretty drastic change to his M.O. He used to be all over Social media displaying his life for all to see. Especially when we first met. He was all about letting everyone know how happy he was and that he was dating someone. No such behavior with the new guy though. You wouldn't even know he is up to anything non the less having a life or dating again. I can't figure out why the sudden change in what I have come to expect as standard procedure.

I guess it shouldn't matter to me, but still curious. Any thoughts?

Hard to say why.

Coaster are you looking at his social media frequently?   Maybe a replacement activity when tempted.

My ex did this too after leaving me 5 days before Christmas, January 1 they got engaged.  She didn't change a thing. no picks, status change, absolutely nothing which tells me that it isn't real, either own up to it and be real or not is how I see it.  I don't believe that you get engaged and not share your happiness with your friends and family, unless its just all a scam to begin with.
