Dear I am a Child of God

I want to welcome you to the family. I am glad you have found us here. When I first found this site a year and a half ago I was in crisis with my dd16 but we all have come a long way since then. When a family member has BPD, the illness can negatively affect everyone in the family system, including children, siblings, and in-laws. Senior members on the [L5]  Coping and Healing from a BPD Parent, Sibling, or Inlaw board are experienced with and can help you with setting boundaries, finding relief from FOG, encouraging self-care, improving your handling of relationships impacted by your BPD relative, and pursuing a path of recovery from traumatic experiences. The validation, information, and support will give you strength on your journey.

I want to encourge to read the articles associated with that board. I found that the more I understood this disorder the best I could deal with it and the less frustrated and hurt I was too... . keep posting... .

Hi I am a Child of God,

You sound strong and confident--good for you!

And you are definitely not alone.  I have chosen to remain in contact with my uBPD mother, and so I find great help from this site.

Peace to us all!

Hi Jenniferhurts-

I have just joined this forum, and I am LDS. I've been actively dealing with an abusive mother for about 30 years. I'm just coming to understand that she is most likely a BPD parent. (Classic symptoms). I'd be happy to visit with you, either on the forum or via private message. Best of everything to you. Smiling (click to insert in post)
