Since the end of BPD marriage in which I have a ":)on't Look Back" policy, I've had multiple security breaches, stalked, harassed, slandered while trying to build a new life for DD and myself.  It's been massive throughout the community creating a hostile environment.    After 4 years, I spoke the "Crazy Talk" to someone who knows exactly what it's like and how to deal.  He knows my BPDxh.

He found a secret voicemail that would intercept my phone calls before it rang in my house.   Then he reported BPDxh for using job influence to get others to stalk, harass, gather information on me.  He also told me BPDxh & crew were not the only one doing these things to me.  Look somewhere else.   Found it.  Yoyo sweetheart's xgf who has the first 3 earmarks of the first bunch.   Addressed it with adorable yoyo, he dealt, all BS has STOPPED!  Except for the social fallout because I dared to tell someone who believed me.  BTW, poor yoyo man has PTSD too.

I've gone without mental health services for months as the community based office eats therapists alive.  I asked specifically for what I wanted in a therapist, it took awhile but was assigned someone within my parameters.    Cognitive therapy for PTSD, but first we have to diagnose.  More than a check list.    I don't find him well educated or up to date on PTSD knowledge.  His diagnostic tool was 2 hours of abuse trying to trip my triggers.

I can't believe I sat there and took it.  I haven't taken it since BPD walked out my door.   In all situations where this crap starts, I back it out of my space or I walk.  I took it from a therapist who showed every sign of enjoying it.

My life threatening physical symptoms which I haven't experienced since I putting BPD outside my life  almost 4 years ago returned.   I've worked hard for 4 years to repair the neurological and vascular damages, I've overcome organ damage caused by stress.    I won't know what I have left to work with until the last of the nerve storms are over, the adrenalin and cortisol poisoning is over.

Really, abuse as a diagnostic tool?  We do this to middle-age victims of domestic violence who have health issues?

Hi Rubies,

I'm sorry to hear about your therapy appointment, which was clearly not a good fit.  I think I would have been very upset after a session like that.

Have you found a different therapist to go to?  What do you think influenced you to "take" that behavior from the therapist?

Hi Rubies, I read your post and couldn't help but think of what a very skilled counsellor told me about DBT. Most western psychotherapy has its roots in eastern philosophy. DBT, CBT, and RET are primarily founded through Buddhist knowledge of the self. These forms of therapy are used to treat many different types of psychological problems ranging from drug and alcohol addictions to PTSD. Knowledge of the self has helped me begin to become a much happier and healthier human being. I still visit with the counsellor and we discuss different aspects of self now more than anything else. Yesterday we talked about Chakra. I also read a lot of material about what is known of the self. DBT and CBT only scratch the surface of a knowledge that is as vast as the universe and as ancient as eternity. No one should abuse you for any reason. Especially someone who is entrusted with your well being. Much can be learned by finding well written books about self knowledge. Even if you can't find a decent therapist there are great resources available to you. Some are practical and realistic while others are idealistic and more abstract. I tend to gain more insight of my self from realistic rather than idealistic. There is a lot out there and hopefully you will find what works for you.

More than a week later I still have a migraine and visual changes.  What I have is complex stress syndrome common in abuse victims and similar to PTSD, but not the same.  I was trying to tell this therapist when he went into his "THING."

He recorded the session, I politely requested in writing a copy.  I work for the local abuse program.  Since we refer clients, and many of them are perpetual clients, I want to share it with our board of directors after reviewing.

I don't have therapy choices in this small town except take it or leave it.  Why did I stay in the room?  I don't know.  Curiosity killed the cat?  The man offered practical help?
