I have to ask... .

Did anyone get so stressed and depressed during a break-up that it lead to getting sick?

I was at the park today. Had lots of energy, was feeling good. Just like that it's like a huge weight just dropped. I was fatigued, light-headed and feverish.

I used to worry it was diabetes, but I take a test every three months. Last one came up in the ideal zone. So it can't be that.

I just got home and I dropped. I feel like I'm drunk, but haven't had any alcohol at all. Feel my pulse in my head and feel so sluggish. My dog jumped up on me and I could barely keep him off.

Anyone think this could be stress-related? Also, has anyone ever had anything like this happen?

Yes and yes. But with those symptoms and the short length of time you've had them, it could be a lot of different things. Most of our symptoms are caused by the immune system itself, so they're often similar for different causes. Could be stress, could be virus/bacteria infection, could be allergy or intolerance of some sort.

I've been through each of those more times than I care to remember. It was hard to pin down what the source was sometimes, but time usually made it clear. Not always.

If it persists it might be good to get a professional opinion. I found the mainstream doctors good at weeding out the common physical possibilities, at least.  Smiling (click to insert in post)

Vatz

remembers me myself when I eat things with sugar or white meal or both and after a while energy is going really low in a fast and uncomfortable manner.

Could be stress too. You are in a new situation, which is always challenging. Time will tell you. My suggestion: Moving your body, eating health food, being nice with yourself which means for me no should's ( e.g. I should feel better or should be more outgoing or whatever).

Okay so, this Thursday I found something on my body that I thought strange... .I didn't want to really think about it at the time but I need to tell someone.

I found a sore on my right testicle. I'm afraid it's herpes. I mean, it isn't in clusters and it may not be what I think it is (or I'm in denial,) but I am going to the doctor within the next few days.

I'm terrified. If I thought moving on was going to be hard before, this would make things... .terrible. I'm not looking forward to a life of celibacy just because my idiot ex left me with an STD.

So I'm going to my doctor either tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm running a fever and still need to go to work, and I have *THIS* to worry about as well.

I'm not looking forward to the next few days. This was going to to be a more relaxed week for me. Now that's f***ing ruined.

Yes, I was very, very angry at her and myself, starting about 6 months after I left her, and eventually it made me physically sick, right about the time I was letting go of the anger and moving into a depression that lasted several months.  Our body has a way of purging and cleansing itself, and the stuff we're denying or ignoring is still in there, and it will come out somewhere, it has to, to heal.  I had no energy at all, my shoulder seized up, I was sleeping a great deal, I felt achy all the time, shtty period for sure, but it takes what it takes, that's what hurt feels like when they're leaving, but the good news is that it left, all the way, and life is wonderful today.  Plus, our amazing bodies, in more efforts to protect itself, gets stronger, and maybe my brain has caught up a little; I now know what ignoring my gut feel will do to me, it will take me down physically and cause me to waste a bunch of precious life.  Fck that.

I got tested for STD's when I left her, negative thankfully, and honestly surprising since she's sucked on most of Texas, but head on down to the doc vatz; we need to repair these things one step at a time, do the work, and you will come out the other side stronger, promise.

This is tough, Vatz, and really frustrating.

Get a doc's appointment ASAP.

Prayers are on the way that it will be negativ.

So good news.

Tests came back negative. No gen herpes, but apparently I've hard oral herpes for years, it comes in the form of a cold sore. But was told it's okay and lots of folks have it. It's not one of those "stay away from me" diseases.

Otherwise my blood work came in excellent besides cholesterol. I was already a week and a half into a training program (5 days a week, no excuses.) That fever I got was viral. Friday afternoon I reached normal temp.

With Monday looming ahead, my program continues and I'm even adding something into my workout to really get things moving along. Like back when I first started college.

It's a huge relief and a weight off my shoulders.
